Social and economic situation of the Municipal Formation

The Belaya Glina district of the Krasnodar region was established on 25 January, 1924. The Municipal Formation has a strategically advantageous location, being on the "crossroads" of the 3 regions of the Southern Federal District – the Don, Kuban and Stavropol regions. It is connected by railway and federal highways with ports and resorts of the Black and Azov Seas ​​and with the city of Sochi. The total length of the administrative borders is 258 km. The population of the administrative center of the Municipal Formation is 17 thousand people. The average population density is 22 people per 1 sq.km. 100% of the total population of the district lives in the countryside.

The level of gasification by housing natural and liquefied gas in the Belaya Glina district is 100%, including natural gas of 93%. The total length of the pipeline is 500 km. The district is one of the first in the region to have been gasified by 100% as for the gas supply to settlements.

Agriculture is the most developed industry in the MF Belaya Glina District. There are 13 collective farms, 14 small farms, 374 private (peasant) farms and 12,096 personal subsidiary economies on the territory of the Belaya Glina district. The agricultural enterprises engage in the crop and animal production.

The area of ​​the district is 149,397 hectares (149.4 km2).

The climate is moderately continental. The average annual temperature is +10 degrees Celsius. The prevailing winds are south-eastern. The average January temperature in the plains is -4…-6 degrees, and that one in July is +24…+26 degrees. The average number of sunny days is 280.

The density of the network of public roads on the territory of the Belaya Glina district is 0.306 km per sq. km that is less than the average regional value (0.508 km per sq. km). With the low population density of 22 people per sq. km (the average regional value is 68.105 people per sq. km), 0.014 km of public roads accrues to each inhabitant of the district that is two times higher than the average value for the region (0.007 km per person).

The roads of regional significance "Tikhoretsk – Belaya Glina village – the border of the Rostov region" (with the intensity of 3,500 automobiles per day) are a basis of the transport links in the district in the east-west direction, and the roads "Belaya Glina village – Tsentralnyi rural settlement – Magistralnyi rural settlement" and "Belaya Glina village – Ilyinskaya Cossack village" (up to 2,000 automobiles per day) are roads in the meridional direction.

The length of local roads in the district including unimproved roads is 277.39 km; all of them are classified as local settlement roads. At present time, 83.8% of local roads have a hard-surface pavement (cement and concrete, asphalt or gravel).

The public double-track railway crosses the territory of the Municipal Formation Belaya Glina District. There is a railway station "Beloglinskaya" that performs the following operations: receiving and sending passenger trains, loading and unloading grain and liquid cargoes, construction materials and other goods.

There is a station building including the ticket office, waiting room and other service facilities at the "Beloglinskaya" station. The station is classified as an intermediate one of the 3d class as for the work nature.

Non-public access railways to Beloglinskiy Elevator, OJSC, Amethyst, LLC (tank farm) and Belzagotprom, LLC link up with the public tracks roads. There are two elevated tracks for unloading of bulk cargoes, as well as unloading of mineral fertilizers.

The population is 30.43 thousand people, or 0.7% of the population of the Krasnodar region, of which 39.9% is economic active one.

The population of the administrative center of the Municipal Formation is 17 thousand people. The average population density is 22 people per 1 sq. km. At that, 100% of the total population of the district lives in the countryside.
