The third visiting session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum "South of Russia: New Growth Points" was held in the regional capital yesterday.
The event was attended by the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the RF President in the Southern Federal District Vladimir Gurba, the Deputy Head of the Administration of the Krasnodar Region Sergey Altukhov, business structure leaders and experts in the investment sphere.
The search and development of new investment and export projects in the SFD were main topics of the Forum. The participants also discussed the improvement of the investment climate in the region, access to new markets and opportunities to search for potential investors.
As the Vice-Governor said, in general, the region shows good performance and firmly established economy, and there is a certain reserve here, such as a developed agricultural structure, a tourism industry, and a gas industry. At the same time, according to Sergey Altukhov, new approaches for the regional development and additional segments should be used to stimulate the performance of the economy, the press service of the Regional Administration reports.
- It is necessary to create such economic conditions in each region that new enterprise should work. As to our region, it is important to support tourism, including non-traditional, and also to create conditions to attract tourists in the off-season time, the Vice-Governor said.
The Deputy Head of the Region also raised the issue of creating industrial zones, industrial parks and technology parks in the region.
- Now we are working on looking for these infrastructures and platforms for the implementation of investment projects, Sergey Altukhov drew the attention.
He explained that a specialized structure – Corporation for the Development of the Krasnodar Region, which is engaged in active involvement of investors, support of investment projects and creation of industrial parks, technology clusters and industrial zones – was created in the region.
Guests of the session also discussed issues related to development of small and medium enterprises in the region, improving the investment climate and expanding the forms of attracting foreign investments into the regional and the Russian economy.
