Veniamin Kondratyev: The Krasnodar Territory and Turkey may have a new vector of development – the creation of joint ventures

The governor of the region met Metin Ozkan, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Novorossiysk. Vice-Governor Alexander Ruppel also participated in the event.

«Turkey is not just a neighbor on the Black Sea for our region, but our strategical partner. We have always maintained friendly and mutually beneficial economic relations. Today we are talking about an increase in mutual trade turnover — up to 2 billion dollars last year, which is a 27 per cent growth. This year, we see the upward trend again — 7 percent growth compared to the same period in 2022. We are interested in further expanding trade, economic and cultural ties. And, in my opinion, we should not only focus on trade, but also on the creation of joint ventures. I think Turkish business will benefit from launching production facilities in our region. It’s working out well for both parties.» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

The Governor noted that today the Krasnodar Territory is one of the best regions for investment in Russia, is among the top five leaders in the national rating of investment attractiveness. The region is ready to assist investors at any stage.

Metin Ozkan, in his turn, thanked the Governor for the warm welcome.

«In recent years, relations between Russia and Turkey have reached a new level. I am sure that the opportunities of the Krasnodar Territory should be actively promoted in our country. The region has two sister cities: Novorossiysk — Samsun and Sochi — Trabzon. Such relationships contribute to cultural and social development. We are happy to support your projects to strengthen relations in all fields,» said Metin Ozkan.

Alexander Ruppel noted that the Consulate General of Turkey in Novorossiysk has been making a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation between Turkey and the Krasnodar Territory for almost 20 years. In 2021, we held a meeting with representatives of Turkey. In 2022, the indicators for imports and exports were increased.
